Much Love in Cleveland

Love Goes to Cleveland

Isn't it interesting?  Isn't it interesting?  Isn't it so very interesting how things change in the tweak of an eye?  Less than a month ago, the Cleveland Cavaliers were getting ready to pick their zillionth number one pick...again.  They recently drafted number one prospects in Kyrie Irvin, Bennett from Kentucky, and this year they selected Andrew Wiggins.  Yes, you heard me Andrew Wiggins.  The kid can jump out of the gym, but  he seems too in love with himself.  Duke's Jabari Parker would have been the mature pick.  Doesn't sound so bad, right?  Not too bad for the Cleveland Cellar Dwellers since LBJ took his talents to South Beach.  Ever since The Decision, the Cleveland Cavs have been utterly hopeless.  They fire coaches at the drop of a hat. Poor, poor Quicken Loans Arena has not been the same since LeBron left Cleveland high and dry.

Fast forward to today, not only did Cleveland bring back the King and hopefully many rings, but they are well on their way to the NBA Finals in June.  Book your hotels now!  Cleveland Cavs have their beloved Northeast Ohio's phenom Lebron James back.  Not only that, LeBron brought sharper shooters Mike Miller and James Jones from Miami.  He may even convince Ray Allen to join him for his last season.  LeBron +Kyrie Irvin + Anderson Verajao = Eastern Conference Finals.  What could be better?
Better?  Wait for it...LeBron just needed one more piece to go against the Spurs next June and who would that be? Who? Who? Who wanted out of Minnesota and didn't get traded to Golden State? Who stated that he would only play for Cleveland?  Who is a walking double double? Love, Love...Love is all Cleveland needs!  Yep, it is official.  Kevin Love will be traded to the Cavs for Wiggins, Bennett and a first round pick.  That solidifies it. FINALS!

But only one question remains...does Cleveland have enough firepower and experience to beat Old Man River Walk, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili? The Spurs kept the team together.  Patty Mills has resigned, along with Boris Diaw.  The Spurs looked so good in finals, as everyone stepped up at the right time.  Right now, the Spurs have the edge, but time will tell.  Can the Cavs gel as a team and gain enough experience during the season?  The East is theirs for the taking.  Baring any serious injuries, there is no team that can beat them in the East.  The Bulls are the only team with a snow ball's chance, but it all depends on the creaking knees and repaired meniscus of Derek Rose.  Rose is looking mighty fine with USA basketball, but he can't do it all.  The Bulls need some other scorer to help him out and that scorer  is going to Cleveland.  Too little, too late for Chicago.

This NBA season will be very interesting.  If both teams remain relatively healthy, you are looking at a collision at the AT&T Center and Quicken Loans Arena.  Who has the advantage? It is way too early to speculate, but Spurs have the wild card.  Besides the experience, the Spurs have Popovich.  Cavs have...?  What is his name?  Is it Coach Mike Brown?  No, he was fired twice by the Cavs.  The Cavs' coach is unproven with zero NBA experience.

It will be a closer series this time around, but Spurs win in 6.  No matter what, Cleveland is in heaven.  LeBron chose to come back. Who does that?  Who chooses Cleveland? Hope has returned to the Mistake on the Lake...no more.  Tweak of an eye, tweak of an eye.
